โœฆ Synopsis

An improved method for evaluating the mixed-mode stress intensity factor (SIF) around a crack-tip is developed considering the first four terms of the Muskhelishvili complex potential. Since the present approach provides a better approximation of the caustics method engendered by large initial curves (LIC), it is suitable for problems of plasticity and elastic anisotropy.

Abatraet-Notched beams of saturated concrete were tested, according to RILEM procedure, at temperatures ranging from 20 to -170ยฐC. A model recently proposed by the authors, the Perturbed Ligament Model, was used to obtain size-independent Gr values. Results show that the perturbation lengths are tem
