β¦ Synopsis
Manufacturable Josephson junctions with grain-boundary and proximity barriers made it possible to demonstrate SQUID sensors having energy resolutions approaching those of commercial low-temperature SQUIDs. Results indicate that the field sensitivity of HTS SQUIDs is already adequate for most magnetometer applications.

The properties of Josephson junctions containing the proximity system Sh-N (where Sh is a high T c film and N is a normal film) are analysed. The amplitude of the Josephson current appears to be largest for the Sh-N-I-Sc junction (where Sc is a conventional superconductor and I is an insulator). Jun
