Compression creep behavior of the 8009 alloy and SIC/8009 composite has been investigated at the temperatures ranging from 573 to 723 K. The addition of SiC whiskers in the 8009 alloy decreases creep rates by two orders of magnitude. The stress and temperture dependence of creep rates of the composi

β¦ Synopsis
The high temperature creep behaviors of Cr3C 2 composite were investigated under compressive and bending creep. The stress exponent and activation energy of Cr3C 2 composite were obtained at 1000 and 1050 Β°C. Assuming different tensile and compressive responses in a ceramic material, bending creep responses of Cr3C 2 composite were analyzed numerically. The numerical analysis showed that the stress state at the cross-section of a crept sample was redistributed nonlinearly and the neutral axis moved toward the compressive region as the applied stress increased during bending creep.
