✦ Synopsis

SiC‐based electroconductive composites containing 10 and 30 vol% MoSi~2~ particles were hot pressed at 1900Β°C. The MoSi~2~ particles, besides increasing the electrical conductivity of the silicon carbide matrix, acted as reinforcement for the material. For the composition containing 30 vol% of MoSi~2~ (see figure), the room‐temperature strength was 825 MPa, the fracture toughness 4.8 MPaΒ·m^0.5^ and the electrical resistivity 1.3Β·10^–3^ OhmΒ·cm.

Electroconductive polychloroprene (CR)-polyaniline (Pani) composites were prepared by swelling the vulcanized rubber material in aniline followed by immersing the specimen in an aqueous solution of HCl containing ammonium persulfate as the oxidant. The results obtained from surface and volume conduc
