โœฆ Synopsis

A very stable, easily constructed, and inexpensive power supply is described for use with spectrophotometers or other instruments depending on a tungstenfilament incandescent bulb as a light source. The supply provides constant voltage to the lamp with protective circuitry to limit the inrush current when the lamp is turned on. A stability of the light output with this supply equivalent to less than a 0.002 apparent absorbance change was observed over a period of 2-150 min when the supply was connected to a prewarmed lamp and housing.
