A sensitive detection method for oligosaccharides using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry has been developed. The method involves the derivatization of oligosaccharides with 4-aminobenzoic acid 2-(diethylamino)ethyI ester (ABDEAE) by reductive amination, a technique which
