✦ Synopsis
The high-re~lution spectra ofH2'60, H2"O. HDr60. HD'aO. D2r60, and D2 180 isolated in argon and krypton matrices are reporkd in the IO-60 cm-r region. The high resolution is obtained by observin_e very ddu te mixtures of watcr in the rare gases. NO discrete absorbancrs attributable to pure argon or krypton are found in this regton. In aU cases the relatwe gas-matrix shifts of the isotapimers are consistent with the rotation-translation couphng model. The lineaidtbs arc found 10 correlate with rotation-translation coupling_ The rntegrated inrcnsity of the l(1.1) -O(O.0) rransition of HDO exhibils a temperature dependcnoc which does not deviate syniticantly from that expected from ;i Boltzmann dlstrtbution in rigid rotor energy levels.
