β¦ Synopsis
Ce 4f states in CeSi have been investigated by Ce 3d-4f and 4d-4f resonant photoemission spectroscopies. The two obtained Ce 4f spectra exhibit a peak at 1.0 eV besides the structures due to 4f 1 and 4f 0 final states which have been observed in the 4f spectra of conventional Ce compounds. We have analyzed the obtained Ce 4f spectra with the noncrossing approximation calculation based on the single impurity Anderson model. The relationship between their electronic and magnetic structures is discussed.

The Ce 4f-derived states in CeRhX (XΒΌSn and In) were directly examined by means of high-resolution 3d-4f resonance photoemission spectroscopy. Compared with the Kondo metal CePtSn, which has a low Kondo temperature, CeRhX has a strong Ce 4f 1 weight near the Fermi level (E F ) and has a weak Ce 4f 0
