โฆ Synopsis
The high-resolution infrared absorption spectrum of the fundamental band of CF radical has been measured with an FTIR spectrometer. Reliable molecular constants of the vibrationally excited state have been obtained. The vibrational transition dipole moment has been estimated, via Herman-Wallis theory, to be (\mu_{10}=-0.14(7) \mathrm{D}) from the analysis of the intensity distribution of the vibration-rotation lines. The sign of the transition dipole moment has been found to be opposite to that of the permanent dipole moment. (c. 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
