✦ Synopsis
The Fourier transform Raman spectra of the fundamental bands of 14 N 15 N and 15 N 2 were measured with a resolution of 0.02 cm -1 . Lines from all branches (O, Q, S) were observed and measured. The analyses of the wavenumbers yield improved values for the band origins n 0 . 14 N 15 N/ = 2291.33773.8/ cm -1 and n 0 . 15 N 2 / = 2252.07846.9/ cm -1 and improved values for the rotational parameters of the ground state and the first excited state of the two molecules. The values obtained for 14 N 15 N are B 0 = 1.9236102.35/ cm -1 and D 0 = 5.3530.94/ × 10 -6 cm -1 and B 1 -B 0 = -0.01651064.86/ cm -1 and D 1 -D 0 = 1.06.16/ × 10 -8 cm -1 . For 15 N 2 the following values obtained are B 0 = 1.8576250.36/ cm -1 , D 0 = 4.9760.87/, B 1 -B 0 = 0.01566657.99/ cm -1 and D 1 -D 0 = 0.94.18/ × 10 -8 cm -1 . The bond length calculated for all three isotopomers of molecular nitrogen shows a systematic decrease with increasing molecular mass.

Rotational analyses of the B 2 ⌺ u ϩ 3 X 2 ⌺ g ϩ system of the 14 N 2 ϩ molecule have been extended to include the vibrational levels up to vЈ ϭ 4. Spectral data from 20 bands obtained from high-resolution Fourier transform spectrometry of a hollow-cathode and a Pointolite lamp were included in the
The coherent Raman spectra of electrically discharged 14 N 2 and 15 N 2 were analysed using the deformationally self-consistent procedure for the treatment of spectral data. By making use of eight independent unconstrained parameters, 356 measured spectral lines were reproduced with s = 0.0023 cm -1
New high-resolution Fourier transform absorption spectra of an 15 N 16 O 2 isotopic sample of nitrogen dioxide were recorded at the University of Bremen in the 6.3-m region. Starting from the results of a previous study [Y. Hamada, J. Mol. Struct. 242, 367-377 (1991)], a new and more extended analys
