โœฆ Synopsis

The electrical resistivity, rรฐTรž, of YbNi 2 B 2 C single crystal has been measured under pressures up to 8 GPa. It has been found that the temperature dependence of rรฐTรž has a weak pressure dependence and a maximum in the magnetic contribution, at 75 K at 2 GPa. The magnetoresistance (MR) at 4.2 K has also been measured under pressures up to 3 GPa and shows a maximum at H max which decreases with increasing pressure. The pressure dependence of MR is discussed briefly in connection with Kondo temperature.

High-pressure magnetisation measurements have been performed on single-crystalline samples of hexagonal UPt 3 along different crystallographic axes at temperatures between 4.2 and 40 K, at pressures up to 4.6 kbar and magnetic fields up to 6.4 T and on tetragonal URu2Si 2 along the tetragonal axis i
