✦ Synopsis

The fluorescence polarization behavior of a series of polyacrylamide-fluorescein conjugates in dilute aqueous solution was studied by lowering the temperature, and by isothermally increasing the pressure. The data are consistent with the previously proposed explanation that the relaxation process is the cooperative motion of a few monomeric units at the chain end.

Raman spectra of pressure-induced crystalline CHzBrz have been measured at room temperature for pressures up to 240 kbar in a gasketed diamond anvil cell. The pressure dependence of the internal and lattice modes are reported and discussed. A phase transition appears between 170 and 240 kbar. This h
