✦ Synopsis

High-pressure infrared spectra of tetrathiafulvalene-chloranil ('ITF-CA) indicate that the neutral-to-ionic transition occurs abruptly at a pressure of 7.8kO.5 kbar. High-pressure visible and infrared spectra on perylene-tetracyanoethylene (perylene-TCNE)

showed no changes which could be attributed to a neutral-to-ionic transition up to a pressure of 52 kbar.
