✦ Synopsis

Pressure-induced changes of permittivity and volume of rape-seed oil have been investigated. Permittivity as a function of pressure shows a discontinuity characteristic for the first order phase transition. Significant volume changes have also been observed. The character of the changes is similar to those discovered earlier in castor oil and its mixtures, although their magnitude and transition pressure is different.
