The transformation of H-Nb 2 O 5 has been studied by using a ''toroid''-type high-pressure chamber at pressures of 5.0 and 8.0 GPa in the temperature region 800-1400ยฐC. A mixture of B-Nb 2 O 5 and a new modification of niobium pentoxide (denoted Z-Nb 2 O 5 ) with seven-coordinated niobium was found
