Ž . compositions with x CHF 0.0334 " 0.0002x -0.1389 " 0.0002 as well as for six 3 Ž . Ž . Ž . compositions with x CHF 0.0305 " 0.0002x -0.1096 " 0.0002 , and mole fractions 1 3 1 Ž .Ž . Ž . xNaCl 0.0046 " 0.0002x -0.0100 " 0.0002 were measured in a high-pressure
2 2 autoclave equipped with sapphire windows and magnetic stirring. The phase transitions were determined visually. The pressure ranged from 20 MPa to 200 MPa, and the temperature Ä Ž . 4 from T s 470 K to T s 625 K. The xCHF q 1 y x H O exhibits a type-III fluid phase 3 2 Ž . behaviour without gas q gas immiscibility of the first kind. Isopleths for NaCl mass Ž . fractions s 0.01677 and 0.03336 relative to H O are shifted towards higher temperatures 2 Ä Ž . 4 compared with the binary mixture xCHF q 1 y x H O . In this system the temperature 3 2 Ä Ž . 4 shift is more pronounced than for isopleths in the system xCF q 1 y x H O upon NaCl 4 2
addition. The objective of this study was to investigate the phase behaviour of model-systems encountered in supercritical water oxidation processes.
