โœฆ Synopsis

This patent describes a mechanical seal which is designed to have an external quench supply within compact dimensions and also be readily assembled and disassembled. The quench is provided through port (40) and circulates around the outside diameter of the seal faces (3, 10) and into the narrow space on the periphery of the static seal ring (30F). The leakage of quench fluid is prevented by a packing ring (4). Although not specifically mentioned in the English abstract, this seal appears to have the sealed product on the inside diameter.
