✦ Synopsis


The mIR spectra of pressureinduced crystalline CHzC12 af room temperature were measured at hydrostatic pressures up to 120 kbar in the diamond anvil cell. The pressure dependences ofthe internal modes (q. us,, vg, and v2) are reported and compared with the result of Raman scattering measurements. T!I~ dismntinuity of the slope (dv/dP) at = 45 kbar for the ~9 antisymmetric CC3 strechurg mode mdicates the pressureinduced semndarder phase transition which seems to be triggered by the interaction betueen the v9 mode and the v3 symmetric CC1 stretching mode.
