The high-performance liquid chromatographic determination of N-aroylanthranilic acid alkaloids is described. The compounds were separated on a C1s column using methanol-aqueous buffer gradients at pH 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5. A relationship was developed between the observed retention time and the presence of the different functional groups of the molecule.
