This paper contains details of recent developments in the analysis of elastohydrodynamic lubrication problems using the finite element method. A steady state isothermal finite element formulation of the smooth line contact problem with Newtonian lubricant behaviour is presented containing both first

โฆ Synopsis
This paper is concerned with the numerical solution of a particular non-linear Volterra integro-dierential equation with a weakly singular kernel. The technique of subtracting out singularities is used together with the product integration methods introduced by McKee and Stokes (1983) to obtain high-order convergence rates. Some numerical results are presented and a convergence analysis for the numerical methods is given.
