✦ Synopsis


A quantum-mechanical nonadiabatic theory of resonance Raman scattering via a system of many intersecting electronic terms is suggested. The radiative and nonradiative couplings are taken into account by the methods of high-order perturbation theory.

The cases of weak and strong laser radiation are considered. The equations for the resonance Raman scattering tensor and cross section are obtained for rotating molecules.
