✦ Synopsis

We report on the dynamics of the electron spin in a gradient of magnetic field and show that magneto-dipole coupling induces a microwave spectrum containing harmonic frequencies of high order. We describe the optical non-linearities on which this effect is based, explicit the selection rules of quantum transitions and calculate the amplitude of harmonics using a perturbative treatment of Bloch equations.

In recent years, nonlinear laser scanning microscopy has gained much attention due to its unique ability of deep optical sectioning. Based on our previous studies, a 1,200-1,300-nm femtosecond laser can provide superior penetration capability with minimized photodamage possibility. However, with the

The generation of high-order harmonics from inhomogeneous ion implanted YBCO films has been investigated by monitoring its response to an alternating magnetic field. These harmonics are generated because of the high nonlinearity caused by sudden magnetic flux penetration above the first critical fie

A many-body approach is used to analyse the doubly resonant infrared-visible sum-frequency generation from molecules with general harmonic potential surfaces. This multi-mode model includes arbitrary linear and quadratic electron-phonon coupling coefficients, and is valid at any temperature. Numeric
