Abstract

The ac conductivity is calculated taking into account combined scattering by polar optical modes and ionized impurities. For small electric fields oscillating in time the Boltz‐mann equation is solved. Good agreement between Drude's simple theory and our calculation is obtained in the low‐frequency range whereas the deviation in the high‐frequency range is appreciable.

The transient high-field conductivity of a simple model of polar semiconductors is studied. In this model it is assumed that the only possible scattering mechanisms is the emission of longitudinal optical (LO) phonons. The time-dependent Boltzmann equation is solved analytically. The behavior of the
