โฆ Synopsis
Newly developed maraging-steel pulse magnets are described which are backed up with thick metal blocks and hydraulic pressure. A test magnet produced 62 T in a bore of 20 mm without destroying the coil. The field is close to the theoretical limit of an infinite-radius coil.
