β¦ Synopsis
Certain tnplet-state aryi catrons rn mrcrocrystailine media display site-sphttmg of considerable energy (0.07-0.10 cm-t).
The different site species respond quite dlfferentIy to warming above 77 K, and the decay kinetics between 90 and 100 K mdicate some mterconversion of sites. The broad triplet ESR spectra found m glassv media appear to be envelopes of the much narrower spectra obtained m microcrystals.

A linear relationship is found between the ZFS parameter D and the energy of the lowest tripIet state. Experimental and theoretical values. when plott,ed. give straight lines with similar slopes.
