✦ Synopsis

Neutron inelastic scattering experiments have been performed to investigate high-energy magnetic excitations in chromium. A commensurate diffuse mode has been measured at energy transfers of up to 75 THz and this contradicts previous measurements. The mode is highly localised in Q and persists above an expected energy gap.
