Abstract

The power dissipation characteristics of CPW‐to‐slotline transitions are discussed. The resonant stub chosen to terminate one CPW slot in these transitions has a significant effect on the transition loss. Series‐stub designs are shown to reduce energy loss by 2.5–3 times on a low‐dielectric‐constant substrate, as compared to the more common radial‐stub design. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
