Main-chain liquid-crystalline polymers containing triad aromatic ester mesogenic blocks together with flexible ion-complexing oligo-oxyethylene blocks have been synthesized. A range of polyoxyethylene precursor polymers was employed with two different triad units to produce mechanically robust polym
