The killer is closer than they think; but will they nab him before he strikes again?
Leon and Dr. Evelyn get to the scene where 3 bodies emerge, and coincidentally, one of their suspects is at the scene as a witness. But Dr. Evelyn has her eyes on another witness, Nikki, who always seems to show face at the park crime scenes. When Dr. Evelyn and Leon go to Nikki's for questioning, Nikki takes some time before cooperating.
When she finally does, Nikki tells them that she might have heard something in 3 of their key cases, and she and her son always feel like they are being watched.
Meanwhile, Danny, the relentless reporter, is apprehended after publishing a letter from the killer, causing absolute panic and chaos. Leon makes a deal with Danny – for him to be used as bait, and all charges against him will be dropped.
As Leon is on a stakeout outside Nikki's apartment, a chilling scream draws him to Nikki, who is trying to fight off a man who has taken hold of her son. Leon manages to subdue him and gets a big break in the case. But Dr. Evelyn vanishes into thin air, and Leon thinks the worst.
