✦ Synopsis

High resolution elastic differential cross section measurements for the H-Hz system are reported. The diffraction os& Mons are clearly redved. The experimental data are compared with potemials detived from transport and integral cross section measurements. 1. Introductioa H + H2 is the simplest atom-diatom system. The H f H, + H, + H exchange reaction is consîdered a l Werk suppor& by +&e Ual& National Research Councti ** through the "Gruppo Nazíonale di Struttura delIa hfateria".

We derive improved axiomatic upper bounds on the elastic unpolarized differential cross section, do/do, at high energies for the scattering of particles with arbitrary spin. We prove that da x ,5m s {CL + 1)VdCOS e)]" + sin28[Pr'(cos @]z}, with I. = fr 1/x In @/ueL), where s and t are, respectively,
