✦ Synopsis
A new Hg, Tl based superconductor, Hg,,,T1,,,BazCaC'u~08,n.
has been synthesized in sealed quartz ampoules at trmpcratures 720-820°C. The structure is similar to that of TI-22 12. TlZBazCaCuz08+,,. \ith a tetragonal unit cell (u=3.8534(4) -. ('= 29.385( 5) A. space group 14/mmm). The composition of the phase was determined by energ)-dispersive spectrometry analysis and it was studied with X-ray powder diffraction, as well as scanning and transmission electron microscopy. By .AC susceptibility measurements the onset of the superconducting transition temperature was found to be IO0 K.
