✦ Synopsis
A new series of Hg-based superconductor Hgo.sMoo.2Sr2Y~_xCaxCu206+~ with a maximum Tcon~t of 98 K (at x=0.65) as determined by electrical resistance measurements has been synthesized for the composition range 0.4 < x< 0.65. X-ray diffraction and electron diffraction both give the tetragonal structure of 1212 cuprate with lattice parameters a = 3.825, c = 11.910 A for x=0.5 samples and a space group of P4/mmm-Energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry analysis confirms that Hg and Mo are incorporated into the structure.

A new mercury-bismuth-based cuprate, Hgo.sBi0.sSr2Cat \_xNdxCu206+6 has been synthesized for x ranging from 0.35 to 1. The high-resolution electron microscopy and the X-ray diffraction analyses give evidence for a 1212-type structure, without any ordering between Hg and Bi. For 0.35 < x < 0.5, the s
