A structure of hexalithiobenzene which can be described as a tightly clustered trimer of C2Li2 units is presented. This structure lies substantially lower than the previously reported lowest-energy structure. The relative energies of five different structures of CJ& using density-functional theory both with (NLSD) and without (LSD) non-local corrections are detailed.
