✦ Synopsis
The title compound, Mn(H~2~O)~6~~2~, was obtained by the in situ hydrothermal reaction of MnCl~2~ with 4-nitrobenzonitrile in the presence of NaN~3~. The Mn atoms are located on inversion centres. The structure comprises hydrogen-bonded sheets of deprotonated 5-(4-nitrophenyl)tetrazole anions and hexaaquamanganese(II) cations.
