β¦ Synopsis
States due to recrystallization/ formulation issues and still remains unavailable here. Although tolcapone appears to provide a longer duration of action than entacapone, in a recent study in which patients were switched from entacapone to tolcapone, dyskinesias were reported relatively frequently, in 29% of entacapone versus 31% of tolcapone patients. 3 Although these agents may relieve motor symptoms, neither provides CDS. The challenge of providing true CDS using noninvasive methods remains largely unmet; however, some strategies may indeed move us closer to that goal.
