✦ Synopsis


The properties of junctions made by growing superconducting Bal_xKxBiO 3 (BKBO) epitaxially on superconducting Lal.85Sro.15CuO 4 (LSCO) epitaxial films depend on the orientation of the Lal.85Sro.15CuO 4 films. Unusual features in the conductance characteristics of junctions made on ( 103) and ( 100) LSCO films are similar to those of BKBO/native barrier/normal-metal tunnel junctions; these junctions also have supercurrents. On (001) LSCO films, no supercurrents or gap structure are observed, despite similar junction resistances.
