A mathematical tool capable of incorporating approximating and interpolating schemes is introduced in this paper. The whole power of the rational B~zier/B-spline technique is capitalized on to embed Hermite-and Coons-like interpolants into the Bdzier/B-spline scheme. A C 1 curve and C 1,1 surface interpolation methods are presented.
