✦ Synopsis

Hemiresection-interposition arthroplasty of the distal radioulnar joint has been carried out in 12 men. The indication was osteoarthritis with an intact triangular fibrocartilage, or when the fibrocartilage could be reconstructed. The average age was 41 years and average follow up for 53 months. In all the patients, there was relief of pain and a significant increase in movement and in grip strength.

R~sum~. L'arthroplastie par h~mi-rdsection-interposition (AHI) a gtd rdalis~e chez 12 patients (tous de sexe masculin) prisentant une arthrose radiocub#ale infirieure. L'indication de I'AHI a dtd posde chez les malades dont le fibrocartilage triangulaire itait intact ou reconstructible. L'~ge moyen des patients dtait de 41 ans (32 gz 63 ans). La pdriode de surveillance post-opdratoire a dtd de 53 mois en moyenne (de 35 gt 75 mois). Les douleurs du poignet ont totalement disparu ou ont dti notablement soulagdes darts tousles cas. La mobilit~ pri-op~ratoire moyenne ~tait de 53 ° d'extension et de

51 ° deflexion. Aprbs l'intervention l'extension atteignait 68 ° et la flexion 64 °. De mYme la prosupination dtait en moyenne de 69 ° ?t 64 ° avant l' opdration et de 86 ° gt 86 ° aprbs celle-ci. Darts tous les cas on a dgalement notd une augmentation importante de la force du poignet. L' amdlioration de la mobilit~ et de la force est statistiquement significative (p < 0.05).
