Abstract
By the reaction of diacetyl with cyanohydrines derived from ketones 2,2‐di‐hydroxyacyl‐amino‐3‐keto‐n‐butanes (3–6) and 2‐methyl‐2‐acetyl‐oxazolidones‐(4) (3a–6a) were obtained. The structure of these compounds were confirmed by further chemical transformation and by comparison of infrared spectra with 2,2,5,5‐tetra‐alkyl‐4‐oxazolidones prepared by an independent route.
