✦ Synopsis

The Heck reaction of iodobenzene and 4-methyl-iodobenzene with olefins using silica-supported palladium complex catalysts was conducted in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([bmim]PF 6 ), exhibiting higher activities than in DMF in addition to easy product isolation and catalyst recycling.
