โฆ Synopsis
Energy conversion through unipolar induction is investigated; mechanical energy is directly transformed into heat and the underlying comersion process is analyzed here with the aid of two inertialframes of reference, one attached to the permanent magnet and the other to the moving, induced body. Poynting's theorem is used throughout and its relevance to the problem considered is stressed.
