โฆ Synopsis
The problem of heat transfer from an enclosed rotating disc has been considered. The effects of radial outflow and inflow on the temperature profile and the Nusselt numbers on the rotor and the stator have been investigated in regions of no recirculation and recirculation.

The flow near a disk rotating in a cylinder of water was studied by using dye tracers and by taking time exposure photographs of neutrally buoyant beads. The rotational Reynolds number was large so that boundary layers formed on all surfaces. The rate of dissolution of cinnamic acid from the disk fa
