โฆ Synopsis
The heat transfer on the surface of high temperature superconductor (HTSC) silver-sheathed Bi2Sr2CalCu208+ x tapes was studied during nucleate and film boiling of liquid helium and with single-phase natural convection of helium gas. It is shown that the composite tape thickness (0.3-1.6 mm) influences the heat transfer coefficients during nucleate boiling and the characteristics of the boiling crises. The thermal conductivity coefficient of the HTSC ceramic layer with pores filled with helium is higher than that in a vacuum. It is shown that the composite tape may be cooled effectively if only part of its surface is wetted with liquid coolant.
