โœฆ Synopsis

The 3rd World Conference for heat transfer and pressure drop is the ratio of fin pitch p to fin height h. With large values of p/h, the fins act primarily as turbulence promoters generating a high heat transfer coefficient and also a large pressure loss. The increase of heat transfer surface is negligible. With smaller ratios, p/h Nusselt-number Nu and friction factor ~: decrease, but the heat flux reaches a maximum. The aim of this experimental investigation was the determination of Nusselt number and friction factor and their presentation in an appropriate form as a function of the fin geometry. The following range of fin parameters were studied: fin heights h = 2 to 6 mm fin pitches p = 2.2 to 105.6 mm.

The inner tube diameter of the annulus was 40 mm for all measurements. The fin thickness was 1 mm. The results were obtained for Reynolds numbers between 5.000 < Re < 150.000. The working fluid was water.

Experimental results are presented for characteristics of impingement heat transfer caused by three slot jets. Experimental values were obtained for the dimensionless distance H = 0.5-3, dimensionless pitch P = 6-16, and Reynolds number Re = 500-8000. For laminar impinging flow, they were compared w

In the present study, heat transfer characteristics of a micro-scale slot jet impinging on a heated flat plate are experimentally investigated. The effects of Reynolds numbers (Re = 150-5000) and nozzle-to-plate spacings (Z/d h = 0.5-10) on the Nusselt number are considered. Based on the experimenta
