β¦ Synopsis
Heat of hydration of cement pastes was studied under different ambient tem~eratures.
The results show that when cement paste is prepared at and exposed to elevated temperatures, the rate of heat evolved is accelerated at early ages, but decelerated later on.
In addition the study indicates that the effect of elevated temperature differs with different types of cement.

Recent published work suggests that the strength changes associated with the conversion reaction of aluminous cement can be avoided through the use of calcium carbonate fillers. It is said that these lead to the formation of mono-carbo aluminate C4ACHII which does not undergo the conversion reactio
The microstructure of cement pastes containing 5% silica fume or 30% ground granulated blast furnace slag was investigated in comparison with plain portland cement pastes. The pastes were cured at constant temperatures of 23Β°C and 70Β°C to degrees of hydration of 30 and 70% as indicated by the noneva
The hydration behavlour of CL2A~, a component of many calcium aluminate cements, has been studied over a range of temperature using conduction calorimetry, X-ray and thermal analysis techniques. At 4oc, hydration occurs about 2 hours after mixing; hydration is slower at 20Β°C but at 40Β°C a very rapi
