โœฆ Synopsis

antennae, consisting of two copper wires, 5 ยฐ M. long and 0. 4 m.m. diameter, hanging parallel to each other behind the apparatus. During the flight these wires attained an almost horizontal position.

The total weight of the apparatus was about 2o k.g. Farman did not carry a passenger, but was his own operator. The waves were received by a Ferri6 electrolytic detector, connected tc horizontal antennae 200 M. long carried on posts 8 M. high.

We report detailed results on the complex conductivity of YBCO powder at 5GHz, including the normal state conductivity. critical point behaviour, abnormal behaviour at low temperatures and departures from BCS theory at intermediate temperatures. We also discuss a size dependence in our results which
