✦ Synopsis
The heat capacities of LaFeO and LaCoO have been determined by adiabatic calorimetry 3 3 Ž . Ž . from T s 13 to 900 K, and from T s 13 to 1000 K, respectively. Both compounds undergo Ž . electronic transitions; LaFeO a magnetic order᎐disorder AF to para transition at T f 3 735 K; LaCoO a continuous low to intermediate to high-spin transition which gives rise to 3 heat capacity maxima at T f 60 K, and at T f 530 K. Energetic aspects of the transitions are discussed. The thermodynamic properties have been evaluated, and the values of the molar Ž heat capacities, entropies, and enthalpies for LaFeO and LaCoO at T s 298.15, 900, 3 3
