A new approach to the simulation of a horizontal type Ground Heat Exchanger is proposed resulting in a better accuracy and at the same time a reduced computational e!ort. These results come from the concentration of the computational e!ort at the locations with the largest temperature and moisture g

β¦ Synopsis
Validation of ground heat exchanger (GHE) model is presented using the experimental data obtained for both single and double pipe horizontal GHE. Sensitivity analysis of the GHE model shows the influence of the variation in the soil thermal conductivity, specific heat and density on the thermal performance of a GHE. Finally, the thermal performance of a GHE is analysed using both heat and mass transfer models, and conduction only model, as well as the influence of the initial soil moisture content on the thermal performance of a GHE.

A detailed mathematical model is developed to predict the heat and mass transfer performance of a vapour compression/liquid desiccant hybrid cooling and dehumidification absorber referred to as RCLDA system in this work. An RCLDA system uses a desiccant loop to bring the humidity within the comfort
