When Leilana Michaels moves to the Pacific Northwest to finish getting her university degree, she never expected to love the dreary, rainy weather. She didn’t expect that her roommate would literally be the bane of her existence. Nor did she expect her favorite courses wouldn’t be the ones for her major, but something completely out of left field.

Most of all, she didn’t expect to fall head over heels for Ellie Wallace, the woman across the hall who plays cello music in the misty mornings and seems to be part of every club on campus. Ellie’s small, gentle hands and long fingers, running over the strings of her cello, fill Leilana with a fluttering warmth in her stomach she struggles to deny, much less cope with.

Leilana longs to hear her music as much as possible, staying up to late hours to hear the humming across the hallway. It eases her stress and the music is addicting, almost as much as the image of Ellie’s soft, pastel-pink lips on hers, or the way her fingertips might feel in Leilana’s hand. With the chaos of a new school, a roommate where the animosity is mutual, and this budding love, Leilana doesn’t know how she’s going to keep her head above water.
