โœฆ Synopsis

Heart and Hands: A Midwife's Guide to Pregnancy, originally published in 1981, is now in its third edition. Davis' dedication for this revised edition states the purpose of the book as "a practical guide to midwifery-to instruct those women interested in becoming midwives, and to convey the realities of practice." Ms. Davis is an educator, midwife, and author with recognized expertise in the area of women's health care. In her book she succinctly summarizes the beliefs and practices of the home birth community. Compared to the second edition, new and updated information is included on fetal development, the physiology of breast feeding, malpractice concerns, case histories, sexual abuse, homeopathy, and water births. More information on technology is provided.
